Maru is one of the most captivating voices in Spanish music, standing out for her versatility and the particular timbre of her voice. Her ultimate inspiration lies in jazz, but her musical exploration encompasses a wide diversity of styles. Like her previous work, Raíz, this project delves into memory, identity and the importance of reconnecting with our roots.

In this second album, she offers us a fusion of fresh sounds with a special look at Africa and Cuba, maintaining the essence of Raíz - her first album, while enriching it with new influences. Maru looks to the future mixing her personal work with Ilé Wa “our home” a fusion music project between Afro-Cuban jazz and world music. A union between roots, tradition and the contemporary.
