An Evening with Michael Shellenberger

The Free Speech Union Switzerland (FSUS) invites you to an evening with the American author and pro-human environmentalist Michael Shellenberger, best known for his book Apocalypse Never and his role in uncovering the Twitter Files, a series of revelations showing how Big Tech worked hand-in-hand with the U.S. government to suppress free speech. There will be drinks after the event. 

Shellenberger will speak plainly about censorship, freedom of speech, and the growing threats to both in Europe, Switzerland, and beyond. The conversation will be chaired by Dr. Markus Somm, Editor-in-Chief of the Nebelspalter.

Speaker: 

Michael Shellenberger is Founder-President of Civilization Works, Founder of Public, a best-selling author, publisher of the Twitter files, and a pro-human environmentalist. He has broken a number of major stories, including San Francisco's supervised drug consumption site and cash incentives for homelessness, FBI misinformation about the Hunter Biden laptop, climate pseudoscience and climate anxiety, and more. As a leading expert on the suppression of speech who testifies and advises governments worldwide, Michael is now the CBR Chair of Politics, Censorship, and Free Speech at the University of Austin. 

Chair: 

Dr. Markus Somm is a Swiss journalist, author, and publisher, currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Swiss satire magazine “Nebelspalter" in Zurich. He holds a PhD in Economic History from the University of Freiburg, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Zurich. Previously he has led major Swiss media outlets at "Basler Zeitung” in the capacity of Editor-in-Chief at as well as in the capacity of Vice Editor-in-Chief at “Die Weltwoche”, Zurich. Somm’s work focuses on Swiss history, politics, and media, and he has authored several books on these topics. With extensive experience in journalism and academia, he is a notable voice in Swiss public discourse.
